Van driver required for a reputable company based in Burton. They are the leading specialty pharmacy in Europe, providing healthcare solutions to patients with long term conditions, rare diseases and cancer. For over 30 years, they've supported patients to access the life-changing treatment they need, in the comfort and convenience of their own homes across the UK and Europe.
The role
As a van driver, you will be required to deliver medical supplies to patients in their homes, care homes and other similar settings. This is a multi-drop role where you will do around 40-50 drops a day, however you will be doing the drops around one city each day and not all over the country. You will be required to provide a professional delivery service to all customers and patients, that supports our core value to give patients control of their health through knowledge, choice, convenience, and connection. As a Delivery Driver you'll be the face of the company, responsible for patient service and making multi drop deliveries across the sector. Working to time critical deadlines and set delivery schedules is critical to the service provided for patients and full training is provided.
Key deliveries
• To carry out multi-drop deliveries and inter depot trunking operations of highly sensitive medical products to
hospitals, pharmacies and patients. Collections from patients could include clinical waste and returned
equipment, supplies and drugs, within a temperature-controlled environment whilst delivering within the agreed
schedule for patients.
• Maintaining driver records in line with regulation and vehicle operator licence.
• All deliveries must always be scanned at each point of handling and recorded on the HHT ensuring that accurate
scanning and tracking is available for all products and goods.
• Scanning is done at every delivery point to ensure compliance with GDP and regulatory compliance
• Safe operation of vehicle lifting equipment in line with training and safe working practices
• Ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition to complete all deliveries on a day to day basis in line with
company policies, reporting any vehicle defects.
• “Proof of Delivery” process and any “Failures” process that is set out in the training schedule is a key requirement
of contractual obligations to all customers
• Reporting any roadside checks to the Transport Manager
• Take a physical stocktake of a patient’s medication in their home as necessary
Hours
You will be required to start between the hours of 0500 and 1100 and will be text your start time the evening before for the following day. Working days can be anywhere between 8 and 13 hours long.
Requirements for the role
- Minimum 6 months van driving experience
- Multi-drop experience
- No more than 6 points on licence
- Valid DBS check or application made/happy to make the application and provide reference number
- Safety boots and hi-vis vest
- Aged 25 or over
- Passed driving test minimum 2 years ago
