Van driver

Van driver required on a temp to perm contract for a family run specialist supplier of quality packaging products, equipment and bespoke packaging solutions to businesses across the UK. Located in Ilkeston with over 38 years of experience, this particular company support manufacturing businesses, distributors, retailers and e-commerce vendors with a complete range of boxes, protective and postal packaging, tape, strapping, wrap, bags, film and dedicated packaging equipment.

The role

• Deliver packaging products such as boxes, paper, bags and postal products
• All deliveries will be within a 200 mile radius from the depot located in Ilkeston
• Completing around 20 drops a day which are all handballed on, they are sometimes handballed off but if it is 25kg or more, this will be on pallets and taken off with the use of a pump truck
• Potenitially help to clean up in the warehouse for an hour or so
• Safely and efficiently navigate various routes, ensuring timely delivery of goods to designated locations
• Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and secure transportation
• Perform vehicle inspections and routine maintenance, reporting any issues promptly
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations, adhering to company policies and procedures
• Provide excellent customer service, always displaying a professional and friendly demeanor

Requirements for the role

• Possess a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• 25 and over
• Minimum 3 months proven experience working as a van driver
• Comfortable with handballing up to 25kg 
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
• Physically fit, as the role may involve lifting and moving heavy objects

• Monday to Friday
• 7:30am to 4:30pm
