HGV Class 1 Weekend Driver

Workchain, a leading UK-based recruitment agency, is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HGV Class 1 Weekend Driver for our esteemed client based in Birmingham. This is a temporary position within the driving industry, offering an attractive pay rate of £20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate and drive a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 1 over the weekend.
2. Transport goods and materials from one location to another, adhering to strict timeframes and delivery schedules.
3. Conduct pre-and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any faults or repairs needed.
4. Adhere to all relevant road traffic regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance with tachograph and driver hours regulations.
5. Handle all necessary paperwork associated with the transport of goods, including delivery notes and consignment documentation.
6. Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
7. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle, ensuring it is presentable at all times.

Qualifications:

1. Hold a valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) license.
2. Possess a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
3. Previous experience as an HGV Class 1 driver is essential.
4. Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record with no disqualifications.
5. Good knowledge of relevant road traffic regulations, tachograph, and driver hours legislation.
6. Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete paperwork accurately.
7. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
8. Flexibility to work weekends and occasional overtime as required.
