Role Summary
A key role within the Supply Chain Department reporting directly to the Materials Manager. The logistics Lead is responsible for all Logistics functions within the business. Heavily focused on driving change the incumbent will help to improve communication between all relevant departments, resolve potential problems and seek areas for improvement. They will constantly review warehousing arrangements, inventory levels, storage systems and working practices to ensure the business continuously improves.
This position will require someone with the ability to identify and affect changes, someone with a positive approach and someone who possesses an inquisitive mind and will constantly challenge the status quo, coupled with the resilience to overcome any resistance to change.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and lead logistics team, to include internal transportation for all Units introduce Kanban systems where appropriate and utilise ERP system to maximise efficiencies in receiving product, and method of delivery to point of use incorporating Bar Code technology & stock control using PI Counting methodology
Warehouse management to ensure efficient use of space and ensure appropriate material handling equipment including Forklifts used throughout the Business.
Supervise, coach and train warehouse teams
Keep track of quality, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Resolve any arising problems or complaints
Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
Maintain driver Quality and No-show rate
Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements
Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
Working with the purchasing team to effectively manage procurement strategy, considering quality, cost & delivery impact.

Skills/Experience
A solid background within a supply chain environment, at an appropriately senior level
Thorough working knowledge of stores & goods inward procedures / protocol Experienced working within a Quality Accredited environment and comfortable working to quality auditable procedures
Experienced enough to deal with suppliers and third party external contacts
A track record of identifying improvements and influencing people to see the benefit & deliver the changes
Proven examples of people & change management Experience in upgrading a computerised warehouse
Strong IT skills on Microsoft Office including excel spreadsheets
Excellent communication skills to ensure collaboration between internal and external teams
Able to optimise delivery of a project from a logistical standpoint
